Why doesn't my Discover Credit Card account show pending transactions?

In other words it tells me I have XX amount of credit available, however purchases like gas that only show $1 usually in authorizations may throw me off balance in terms of keeping my balance low. The amounts that show are Processed rather, not authorizations.
