Was anyone else offended by the Obama Tucson pep rally?

I respect the President for making the effort to attend the memorial in Tucson. But "memorial" is hardly what the event was. I felt embarred by the obvious partisan attendance and their proclivity to cheer Obama in the shadow of the carnage that brought them there. The behavior seemed inappropriate and exhibited a vile disrespect for the dead and wounded.
