Is it easier to become a japanese citizen or british?

I live in America and I plan on moving overseas. I'm fairly good with japanese culture nad laws as well as british, but both seem to have quite the amount of immigration laws. Since I have no connection in either country, I'm wondering which is easier from that standpoint.
